The business of athletic footwear, aka the sneaker business, was a $22 billion industry in 2013. To say I am I enjoy the business of sneakers would be an incredible understatement. I’m invested in it in every sense of the word because it fascinates me beyond most things in life.

Weekly Overdose: Sneaker Industry Stories Worth Reading
Every week I tend to compile of “I’ll read this later” tabs in my browser. Sometimes I take the time to read things, other times, it just gets lost in the mix of content on the web. Consuming information is a huge part of everyone’s life now, thanks to the internet allowing anyone with a … Read more
When You’re Out to Beat The World You Wear All Stars
Sneaker advertisements are one of my favorite things because it’s the combination of sneakers and great storytelling in its purest form. Even before Twitter imposed 140 character limits on our lives, the challenge of getting your message across in a concise and comprehensive way was the goal for advertising and marketing professionals trying to grab … Read more
How To Build A Fashion Brand With No Experience
Outlier makes some pretty cool stuff for the active urban commuter but the story on how they began from co-founder Abe Burmeister is even cooler. Branding: The Little Things That Count
For as long as I can remember I’ve been intrigued (overly obsessed is probably more accurate) by the way brands distinguish themselves from others. Although the $450+ to attend wasn’t really part … Read more
Vibram Five Fingers: No Booty, No Bueno
Earlier this week there was a lot of buzz in the sneaker community about the lawsuit against Reebok claiming that “toning shoes” actually did anything the company claimed. Though Reebok will have to pay $25 million back to consumers for false advertising, they’ve reportedly made over $300 million in their toning category. The $275 million … Read more
Formula 1 Circuit of the Americas – Austin Texas
My friends over at @whtcollarcrime just sent over this new Red Bull video of the Circuit of the Americas. I figured since the rest of Formula 1 seems to be bowing down to Sebastian Vettel and Red Bull Racing this season, I may as well tip my cap to them as well. Red Bull is one of … Read more
New Balance Experience Store NYC
It’s been a long since I first begged New Balance for an Experience Store in the US. Even though I’ve been slacking on my bloggin’ (at least here), New Balance has fulfilled that wish three times over now. After opening Experience Stores in both their home in Boston, and one in Washington DC, they’ve recently … Read more
