About

I’m Nick Engvall. For twenty years I’ve worked in and around sneaker and car culture, the stuff people are supposed to grow out of and never do.

I helped build the first dedicated sneaker team at Complex. I launched the first user-generated content and seeding programs at Finish Line. I was employee number nine at StockX. I ran brand as Senior Director at Stadium Goods. Along the way I wrote for Business Insider, Complex, and plenty of others, talked sneakers on NPR and CNN, and got quoted in the New York Times and the Guardian.

In 2024 I went independent. Now I build my own things.

Cars. Kicks. Content.

This site is home base for all of it. The blog is where I think out loud about the work, the drives, the kicks, and the life in between. The feeds pull the latest from my YouTube channels, The Sneaker Newsletter, and the podcasts I host.

The book

In October 2026 my first book arrives: Small Luxuries: Sneakers, from Motorbooks. Twenty years of obsession, finally between two covers. Preorder it here.
