My Favorite Books

I have always loved reading but was never really good at it. I struggled to stay focused enough to get through many books until about 10 years ago when one book really captured my attention unlike any other has. But before I get to that book, I figured I would share my favorite books in no particular order.

Sneaker History – 5 Years In The Making, 10 Years Later

I’ve always been nostalgic when it comes to sneakers, really, when it comes to everything. There’s something I find incredibly important about the stories that got us here and acknowledging the people that paved the path for the journey. While today is the official 5 year anniversary of me starting Sneaker History, the idea had been in the works for much longer.

Speaking Your Truth

I’ve debated about what to title this blog entry for a few hours today while working on other things. At first, I thought ‘Old Man Yells At Cloud’ and then I thought ‘I Miss Old School Hip-Hop’ and then I decided on the current title, ‘Speaking Your Truth’.

I always try to surround myself with young people. The people who haven’t been beaten down by the system, that still have the fire and tenacity to relentlessly be who they are, even when that doesn’t find them on the side of the majority, inspire me beyond words. On the contrary

Bucket List: The Twist Museum – Norway

While I already laid out some of my goals for 2020 a few days ago, I am always adding things to my bucket list that extends beyond just resolutions. That said, my obsession for sneakers that began with drawing concepts with my brothers over 3 decades ago, has turned into something that provides me a way to make a living now, so the significance of them in my life has become important on a much different level.

Paying Attention To The Universe

I believe that all things happen for a reason and sometimes we can’t even see that reason until many years later. However, those that have clarity and are paying attention to the universe, can see and feel the way the universe communicates to you. Feel free to swap out ‘the universe’ with your favorite deity or guiding angel if that’s your thing. I have way too many thoughts running through my head at all times to truly master this skill but it is something I practice regularly. This might sound hippie or too far out for some people but if I could explain it in relation to sports, it’s like being ‘in the zone’.

10 Things I Want To Accomplish In 2020

Every year I tend to make a ridiculously long list of things I would like to do or accomplish, sometimes I keep it to myself, sometimes it ends up on Twitter. This year I am shortening the list to 10 Things I Want To Accomplish In 2020 because in recent years, although I feel like I’ve accomplished a substantial amount of my goals, the list being so long just makes it overwhelming. It’s not that I don’t have a list of 100+ things that I want to do this year, but I think by hyper-focused on the most important goals, I can avoid the stress that comes with seeing so many goals and wondering when I will ever make time for them all.

With that in mind, here are the 10 Things I Want To Accomplish In 2020.
