Could you imagine building your own log home with hand tools? Much of my family works in the lumber industry and even with access to modern tools, the logs, and most of the necessities to make it happen, I still have a hard time fathoming that it could be done. Then I came across Jacob, carpenter, on YouTube.
I came across this when it first went viral a couple of years back and it came to mind because the music from the video was done by Jeff Pianki. I had never heard his music before but a few of the songs from “The Birth of a Wooden House” video have been on my Spotify rotation ever since.
Jeff Pianki recently released some new music as well, so give him a listen. The Paper Window album is pretty phenomenal all the way through.
If my recent #vanlife post wasn’t clear, I’ve really been seeking a new relationship with mother nature. I can’t even imagine building your own home with nothing but hand tools, let alone a log home, but watching this is inspiring, motivating, and has me looking for property to buy. Does anyone else feel the same type of draw towards nature lately? Between always being connected and the seemingly disintegrating planet, I am probably not the only one.
