Nike Donates $5 Million To Obama Presidential Center

“It wouldn’t be the Obama Presidential Center without a place to play some ball,” – Barack Obama

Nike recently announced a $5 million gift to the Obama Presidential Center planned for Chicago’s Jackson Park. The money, which will be given by the Nike Foundation, will go towards building a public athletic facility. According to Matthew Kish of Portland Business Journal, “The center is being designed as a public gathering spot. It will feature a 2-acre playground, jogging paths and a lawn for sledding. In addition to basketball, the athletic facility will be used for dance classes and other sports. It also will include space for the Obama Foundation, a museum, a building for public meetings and a formal library operated in partnership with the Chicago Public Library.”
