Sneaker Ads: adidas adiColor Paint Drip

The sneaker business may be ever-changing but one thing I’m always infatuated by the creative minds that market sneakers. This ad series, from what I can find, was a part of the adidas adicolor campaign done by TBWA in Spain. I think it’s awesomely ironic that these sneaker ads feature paint covering the shape of the shoes, especially considering most sneaker enthusiasts would have a fit if their shoes had any liquid spilled on them, especially paint.

It’s also interesting to me how modern-day sneaker customizers tend to overlook shoes that by design, were intended to be customized. It seems a blank canvas is too complicated for the new generation. But hey, that’s why adidas partnered with Pharrell and not some kid who simply does the same thing over and over again. I feel old being excited about sneaker ads that nobody remembers, but then, the sneaker world has always been a favorite target for vultures of the culture.
