Taking the Hashtag Too Far

Between Twitter and Instagram (among a list of others), the hashtag (#) has become a big part of social media and how we interact on a daily basis. Many of my daily conversations on BBM or through text messaging are littered with the usage of the hashtag, mostly for comical purposes but it’s interesting to see how quickly it’s become part of our everyday communications. Even companies like Red Bull use #GivesYouWings as a way to further brand themselves on TV commercials.

Now a design firm from Denmark is taking the hashtag to new heights in the form of an apartment tower. I wonder if you have to create a globally trending topic before you can add your name to the waitlist?
