Converse First String Standards Pro Leather “Dr J”

Sometimes I am the luckiest person in the world. When I was a kid I would dream of getting free shoes, and every once in a while it really happens. Converse was kind enough to send me a pair of these limited edition shoes, the First String Standards Pro Leather. This remake of the classic shoes made famous by Dr. J back when they originally released in 1976 is superb quality. The softness of the leather and quality of stitching and materials used, makes me appreciate it that much more especially in a time where synthetics rule and standards are no longer maintained by many companies. The  gold embossed “Dr J” on the side pays tribute to Julius Erving’s impact on the court and on sneaker history and adds a touch of class at the same time.
