Be Yourself

It amazes me how many people are not confident enough in their beliefs to stand up for them. I can understand avoiding an argument, keeping the peace, or trying not to burn bridges, but really to act as if you are passionately for (or against) something just because of who is near, is kinda crazy to me.

It is ok to be yourself right? I have friends that have completely different views on some things than me. We’ve been friends for years, even without seeing eye-to-eye.

No two people will ever share exactly the same beliefs. Respect your uniqueness, and everyone else’s in this world, and the world would be a much better place to live in for everyone.

On a side note- I miss the ocean.

Sometimes, SNick, it doesn’t pay to be passionate about your beliefs. Sometimes it causes your perceptions of the world to be tainted and distorted so you people differently than they actually are. Sometimes believing in something so much filters out the gray and leaves only the black and white. Sometimes your belief in something shakes your very core and the pillar you once stood upon tobbles over.

This is what I’m dealing with today, and to be honest it makes me quite sad.
